Before finding his way to our Fitness & Movement team at Canyon Ranch Lenox in the Berkshires, Joe owned his own private practice in California for 10 years working with a multitude of different athletic populations — from high-end athletes to weekend warriors. Joe has also worked with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee in multiple sports medicine rotations in both Colorado Springs, CO and Chula Vista, CA. He was also a provider at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Peru. Since 2014 Joe has travelled to many domestic and international locations as a medical team staff member for Team USA Men’s and Women’s Beach Volleyball. From 2016 to 2020 he was the Team Sports Physician for the U.S. Men’s Field Hockey National Team.

Joe has assisted elite and Olympic athletes who compete in swimming, track and field, and weightlifting, and was a Sports Medicine Clinician at Southern California University of Health Sciences from 2017 to 2021.

But you don’t have to be an elite athlete to benefit from Joe’s sports medicine, personal training, and strength-conditioning experience. Working with individuals to identify and treat musculoskeletal conditions, while creating personalized programs and pathways toward recovery, is what Joe specializes in. This applies to all levels of fitness and addresses a multitude of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. “Although frustrating and painful, an injury doesn't necessarily mean months away from the game. It’s my goal to educate you on your injury, while restoring your body back to your sport or activity as quickly as possible — all while increasing your athletic performance and your quality of health for years to come,” he says.

When not at Canyon Ranch – Joe can usually be found outside, whether golfing, fishing, skiing, or CrossFit/weight training. He also loves spending time with his wife and their 10-year-old son and four-year-old daughter. Words of advice? “Goals should never be easy. They should force you to work, even if they are uncomfortable at the time.”
