A New Chapter in Menopause Care: Behind Our Partnership with Stripes Beauty

Our latest treatments reimagine midlife wellness through science, ritual, and whole-body care.
We’re thrilled to introduce two new spa services in collaboration with Stripes Beauty, the self-care brand helping redefine the menopause conversation: the Hormonal Support Massage and the Root and Crown Renewal Ritual.
Designed with intention and clinical insight, these treatments reflect a shared philosophy around menopause support for the whole person.
We spoke with Canyon Ranch spa expert Nicole Brouker and the team at Stripes Beauty about the inspiration, innovation, and impact behind these transformative experiences.
Q: How do you foster connection and conversation around a topic that's usually overlooked?
Stripes Beauty: Most women were never taught what to expect in perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, so when changes happen, they can feel isolating or confusing. Creating connection starts with normalizing these experiences and giving women the words, science, and space to talk about what’s actually happening in their bodies.
Canyon Ranch: The intention behind our new services was to help guests feel both supported and seen. There's real value in creating an experience that acknowledges and honors that in a thoughtful, elevated way. Our services are designed to be deeply calming, restorative, and grounding. From the pacing to the sensory elements, every detail is meant to help regulate the nervous system and create a sense of ease in the body. At the same time, we want guests to leave feeling empowered — not just relaxed in the moment, but also afterward, with a better understanding of their body and tangible ways to continue supporting themselves beyond the treatment room.
Q: What makes Stripes Beauty’s products work so well with Canyon Ranch’s new treatments?
CR: Stripes is specifically designed to support women throughout the menopause journey, rather than adapting existing products to fit the category. There’s a strong level of intention and education behind Stripes’ formulations, which aligns closely with our personalized, results-driven wellness experiences.
Stripes thoughtfully selects ingredients to address concerns like dryness, loss of elasticity, and sensitivity — key changes that occur during this stage. Products like The Full Monty oil and Rich & Tight cream integrate seamlessly into our treatment protocols while also supporting continued results at home.
SB: Midlife skin behaves differently — it can become thinner, drier, and more reactive due to changes in estrogen levels, sebum production, and natural moisturizing factors. What matters is how ingredients work together, and choosing formulations designed for the unique sensitivity of midlife skin. At this stage, it’s not just about hydration; it’s about delivering, supporting, and maintaining it.
Q: How do these services address the unique changes that occur during midlife?
Stripes Beauty: [The Root and Crown Renewal Ritual] is designed to support from scalp to strand, which becomes increasingly important in midlife. The Root of It focuses on the scalp, nourishing and hydrating at the root; while The Crown Pleaser conditions the hair, helping it appear denser and fuller.
[For the Hormonal Support Massage], Rich & Tight is formulated to deeply hydrate thinning skin, using peptides, ectoine, and barrier-supporting ingredients. The Full Monty complements it with nourishment and radiance, helping to seal in moisture while leaving you glowing.
When used together in a massage, the benefits go beyond hydration — supporting circulation, touch, and a deeper sense of reconnection with the body.
CR: Another key factor is the integration of targeted cryotherapy and thermotherapy applied to specific acupressure points. During perimenopause and menopause, the body often experiences dysregulation — particularly around the nervous system, circulation, and temperature control. By alternating hot and cold therapies, we can support the body in a more intentional way.
Cooling techniques help reduce inflammation, calm hot flashes, and soothe nervous system overstimulation, while warming elements promote circulation, ease muscular tension, and help you feel more grounded.
When combined with acupressure, these temperature-based therapies become even more effective. It supports energy flow, encourages hormonal balance, and helps shift the body out of a heightened stress response — allowing the treatment to move beyond surface-level relaxation into a more therapeutic, results-driven experience.
Q: Can you walk us through the approach behind reframing menopause as a wellness journey with these treatments?
CR: They came from recognizing a clear gap in how the spa industry supports women during perimenopause and menopause. These are significant physiological transitions, yet many treatments are still designed with a one-size-fits-all approach. Our thought process was both clinical and experiential. We looked at common symptoms — hormonal fluctuations, inflammation, skin changes, sleep disruption, and nervous system imbalances — and designed treatments that directly support those concerns. The goal was to deliver meaningful results while also helping women feel understood, cared for, and more connected to their bodies.
SB: We’ve always believed menopause isn’t something to “fix” — it’s something to understand, support, and move through with confidence. For too long, the conversation has been rooted in deficit. In reality, this is a biological transition that impacts every system in the body — from skin and hair to mood, metabolism, and intimacy — yet it has been largely underserved.
Women don’t just want symptom relief, but to feel like themselves again. Or even better, evolve into a new version of themselves with the right support.
Why is it important to treat menopause holistically rather than symptom-by-symptom?
Dr. Somi Javaid of Stripes Beauty: When we talk about menopause, we have to look beyond the stereotype that it’s just about hot flashes. As a physician, I see the bigger picture: estrogen receptors are located throughout the body — in the brain, heart, bones, and skin. Because the decline of this hormone is a total-body event, our clinical approach must be just as comprehensive.
Treating menopause symptom-by-symptom is like playing a game of medical whack-a-mole — it’s reactive rather than preventative. We need to treat the whole person. This isn’t just about helping someone feel better today; it’s about longevity. By addressing these systemic shifts early, we can help prevent disease and preserve quality of life for decades to come. In my view, integrated care isn’t a luxury — it’s a medical necessity for the second half of life.
Q: What does “reclaiming midlife” mean — and where is menopause care headed next?
SB: Reclaiming midlife is about moving from reaction to understanding. It’s not about trying to reverse aging or to hold on to a past version of yourself — it’s about recognizing what your body needs now and making choices that support how you want to feel.
Looking ahead, we’re moving toward a more integrated view of longevity — one that includes midlife health as a central part of the conversation. The perimenopause-to-menopause-to-post-menopause journey will be a key entry point, with more innovation in connecting beauty, internal health, and cognitive well-being, all grounded in science while being accessible.
