Lamb Chops with Pomegranate Molasses

6 4-oz lamb chops
1 Tbsp ground sumac
3/4 tsp sea salt
3/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 Tbsp pomegranate molasses (or pomegranate syrup)

Ground sumac and pomegranate molasses are readily available in Mediterranean food markets and other natural food stores.


  1. Preheat grill or broiler.

  2. In a small bowl, mix sumac, salt and pepper.

  3. Dust lamb chop on each side with sumac mixture.

  4. Grill or broil lamb chops until cooked through, about 3 to 5 minutes per side.

  5. Serve 1 teaspoon pomegranate molasses with 3 ounces grilled lamb chop.
