Fariyal Abdullahi
James Beard Award nominee Chef
Bio
Born in Ethiopia, Chef Fariyal earned a degree in Clinical Child Psychology before pursuing a career at the Culinary Institute of America. She's worked at the three-Michelin-star eatery, Noma, in Copenhagen, and was previously the culinary manager at five Hillstone Restaurant Group locations. Her dishes have earned her recognition from Vogue, the Food Network, and more, and she’s currently the chef partner at Hav & Mar in NYC where she’s been nominated three times for a James Beard Award. She also co-leads a nonprofit that builds schools and provides clean water access in rural Ethiopia, where construction is underway on its sixth school.
