Business Director – Aesthetics Laura Hittleman knows the beauty industry and medical aesthetics can be very confusing and overwhelming at times. As a 30-year veteran of the integrative wellness brand, Laura strives to educate guests through her “less is more” philosophy and keen sense of product and service selection.
WHAT MAKES YOU A CANYON RANCH “WELLNESS ARCHITECT”?
I strive to provide a message of health and wellness through our beauty and medical aesthetics treatments, using education and selection of products and services to deliver pure and effective results. The beauty industry can be very confusing and overwhelming; we do our homework with the collections we offer so our guests will look to us as an authority on current and sustainable trends.
HOW DOES CANYON RANCH FRAME YOUR LIFE?
I am more than proud to say that I have been lucky to work at Canyon Ranch for 30 years and it has framed who I am today. It is not only the fabric of who I have grown into, but it is also the fabric for my amazing husband Jude who has been with Canyon Ranch for 30 years as well, along with our 22-year-old twins (our son works here now too). Canyon Ranch becomes a lifestyle, second family and a way of life. It inspires me as a professional, a mom and all aspects of our daily life.
HOW DO YOU HANDLE STRESS IN YOUR OWN LIFE?
“It’s not the situation; it’s how you handle the situation.” This is what I tell myself and advise to others when the stress starts to build. Stress will always be there but I try to step back and take care of others, and myself, which always seems to help. I also love to bake which is also a great stress reliever.
WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT CANYON RANCH PHILOSOPHY FOR YOU IN YOUR BUSY LIFE?
Nutrition is high priority in my life. Without healthy nutrition and routines, all else will start to become imbalanced. My sleep, weight, skin, hair, demeanor, overall health and more will start to slip.
HOW WOULD YOU RECOMMEND OTHER BUSY PEOPLE IN HIGH-STRESS JOBS ADOPT THIS PHILOSOPHY?
Be sure that you start with a physical from your doctor, know your numbers (cholesterol, BP etc.), keep routines simple and fun, and eat what you like but keep it healthy. It is just as easy to choose a healthy meal as it is to choose an unhealthy one.
