Gotta Dance at the Ranch™

Gotta Dance at the Ranch™ is always one of the most popular events at Canyon Ranch Tucson, with guests returning year after year to our Arizona wellness center for the pure joy of this uplifting retreat.
Guest choreographers offer inspired classes for all levels. Jump into hip-hop, ballet, jazz, Bollywood, and much more. If you have dance shoes – ballet, tap, or jazz, please bring those with you.
Tera-Lee Pollin
Tera-Lee Pollin is proud to be a part of American Dance Machine, which received rave reviews at the Joyce Theatre, NYC, last year! She is on the teaching faculty at Steps on Broadway, Marymount Manhattan College, Musiktheatre Bavaria, CAP21, and Equinox. Tera-Lee made her Broadway debut with Urban Cowboy the Musical. Some of her favorite shows and experiences include American Dance Machine with Wayne Cilento, Mamma Mia! on Broadway (Dance Captain), Hot Feet on Broadway where she worked with Maurice Hines, The National Tour of Spamalot (Dance Captain), The Wiz at La Jolla Playhouse, Swing!, The Apollo Theatre's Club Harlem, and working with David Parsons on the Festival of Music in San Remo, Italy.
Film/Television credits include The Smurfs Movie, Dark Horse, Old Dogs, Saturday Night Live, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Fashion Rocks. Tera-Lee has also performed live with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Kanye West, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Gloria Gaynor, The Lonely Island Boys (Featuring Akon), and Brian McNight. She is so excited to work with all the fabulous dancers at Canyon Ranch!!
Elijah Gibson
Elijah Gibson is a teacher and choreographer in demand from San Diego, California, where he attended San Diego School for the Performing Arts. Mr. Gibson is overjoyed to have joined the faculty of his Alma Mater at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance and Choreography. He received his Masters of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Mr. Gibson joined Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago in 2000, where he performed for eight years. He has worked with or performed the works of the late Gus Giordano, Margo Sappington, Christopher Huggins, Jon Lehrer, Mia Michaels, Liz Imperio, Randy Duncan, Tony Powell, Ron De Jesus, and Davis Robertson, among many others.
Elijah also had the privilege of guest performing with Instruments of Movement, Cirque River Dance Theater, and Specialty Tap Chicago, to name a few. He has performed and taught throughout the United States, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Costa Rica, Latvia, Spain, Ecuador, Canada, and Mexico. He has served on the faculties of the American College Dance Festival Association, Jazz Dance World Congress, Dance Masters of Wisconsin, Chicago National Association of Dance Masters, Leon Dance Arts NY, and Key West Modern Dance, to name a few.
Dance companies have performed his choreography nationally and internationally, such as Nomi Lamad, Inaside Dance Chicago, Thodos Dance Chicago, Jayson Tisa Dance Company, City Dance Company of Houston, Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago II, and Naway Dance Company, as well as university dance ensembles throughout the country. Upon his transition into teaching in higher education, he has been on faculty at Shenandoah University and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has been fortunate to dabble in every aspect of the arts, from dance to theater to film.
Miguel Perez
Miguel Perez started dancing at the University of Arizona where he was fortunate enough to receive a four-year scholarship for dance. He then danced for River North Dance Company and Hubbard Street 2 in Chicago.
After changing from concert to commercial dance, Miguel moved to Las Vegas to dance for Celine Dion's “A New Day“ at Caesars Palace. Once the Celine show closed in Vegas, Miguel went on Celine Dion’s world tour “Taking Chances,” as her dance captain.
After being on tour, Miguel made LA his new home. He filmed two workout videos for Hip-Hop abs and for Dancing with the Stars. He’s also appeared on America's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance, and was a dancer in the show Viva Elvis for Cirque Du Soleil. He has performed in the Miss Kentucky Pageant, Miss USA Pageant, and Miss Universe. He has also danced for Paulina Rubio in Mexico City and Leona Lewis on Dancing with the Stars.
Miguel has filmed two movies, Behind The Candelabra, where he worked with Marguerite Derricks, and Ted 2, choreographed by Rob Ashford. He has also been in a commercial for “Acura” with Ryan Heffington, and danced with the BodyTraffic Dance Company, danced for Shania Twain’s show at Cesar's Palace Casino in Las Vegas, appeared at The Oscars, performed with Taylor Swift on the AMA's, and at The Kennedy Honors awards tribute to Rita Moreno.
Over the years, Miguel has had the privilege to work with some of the most influential names in concert dance and commercial worlds like Jamie King, Vincent Paterson, Mia Michaels, Brian Friedman Tabitha, and Napolean, Mandy Moore, Stacey Tookey, Bonnie Story, Tyce Diorio, Hofesh Schecter, Kyle Abraham, Victor Quijada, Richard Siegel, Frank Chavez, Sherry Zunker, and Sidra Bell.
So many great artists have influenced Miguel's career and his expertise. His goal is to share this knowledge and inspire a new generation of dancers.
