Join us for exhilarating treks along the celebrated Appalachian Trail through the Berkshires. Expert Ranch guides lead daily hikes of 6 to 10 miles through this renowned natural area of Massachusetts.

In this fantastic workout for mind and body, you’ll see spectacular streams, meadows, lakes and wildlife, and learn about the area’s fascinating history during this unique hiking retreat.

Hiking Highlights

Discover breathtaking views and fascinating local history as you take on adventurous and challenging hikes.

Day 1: Level 3 - Tyringham Cobble To Hop Brook Loop
Enjoy a stroll through beautiful rolling meadows, over the cobble and down to Hop Brook, and then up to the top of the cobble for three distinct valley views. 4 miles; elevation 800’.
Day 2: Level 4 – June Mountain to East Mountain
Embark on a short but steep ascent out of the Housatonic River Valley and enjoy the rolling terrain and views to the South and into Ice Gulch. 7.6 miles; elevation 1000’
Day 3: Level 5 – Tyringham Shake Village to Benedict Pond
Take on rolling, varied terrain with many brooks, beaver ponds and a view of the county’s most impressive beaver dam. End your hike at Beartown State Forest along the shore of picturesque Benedict Pond. 8.6 miles; elevation 1100’
Day 4: Level 3 – Goose Pond
Experience the varied existence of a "thru-hiker". Begin by crossing a pedestrian bridge over the Massachusetts Turnpike and quickly transition into a backwoods experience as you hike up a steep section to the top of the ridge. Enjoy the descent to the pristine Upper Goose Pond. 4 miles; elevation 800’
