Nutritionist, Canyon Ranch in Tucson
A Tucson native, registered dietitian/nutritionist Andres Valenzuela joined the Canyon Ranch team in 2013. After receiving his masters of nutritional science degree with an emphasis on exercise physiology from The University of Arizona, he spent years in various clinical settings across southern Arizona. Andres has also served as the Director of Food Safety and Compliance for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, an organization that he continues to volunteer with, sitting on their Board of Directors.
Andres’ personal experience with weight loss is what initiated his interest in nutrition and it was his mother’s participation in the Life Enhancement Program that sparked his passion for Canyon Ranch. Having achieved his long time goal of working with the integrative experts that had such an impact on both his and his mother’s life, Andres uses his first-hand knowledge of maintaining a healthy weight to empower guests to make lasting lifestyle changes. He works closely with the Weight Loss Program at the Life Enhancement Center and specializes in body composition, metabolism, sports nutrition, gut health, diabetes and other chronic diseases.
In his spare time, Andres plays soccer in a local men’s league and enjoys spending time with friends, family, and his three Boston Terriers. He loves to visit the US Virgin Islands of St. Thomas and St. John where he was married.
