Julie Haber, M.Div.
Director of Spirituality
Julie has 20 years’ experience in the holistic and spiritual lifestyle and is a master sufi teacher and healer. She incorporates mindfulness through yoga and meditation and heart-based techniques in her approach to healing.
She began her career at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. After completing a BA in rhetoric and communications at University at Albany (SUNY), she received her Master of Divinity degree from the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism (USHS), with a focus in spiritual counseling and ministry. She has a passion for peacemaking and conflict resolution and is a certified mediator.
Julie communicates complex concepts in ways that are readily understandable. She is particularly interested in the relationship between healing and spirituality, and firmly believes that all of the trials we go through in life are opportunities to strengthen our faith.
As Spiritual Programs Director at Canyon Ranch in Tucson, Julie creates a safe environment and meaningful experience through personal sessions, including Spiritual Dialogue, Soul Journey, Rite of Passage and Sacred Body. She is a frequent guest speaker for various groups, and loves incorporating storytelling, poetry and humor into her speaking engagements.
Sarah F. Vulgamore, M.A, M.S., N.C.C.
Spiritual Health Expert
Sarah received her Master of Science degree in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University Maryland. She holds an MA in art history from Columbia University, and a BA in religious studies from New York University.
Before joining Canyon Ranch, she was a counselor at Stevenson University, Maryland. Her professional interests include the use of the labyrinth in walking meditation and the integration of spirituality in personal well-being, with a special focus on mindfulness and healing. Sarah is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American College Counseling Association and the American Association of Pastoral Counselors. She has spoken at national conferences, colleges, community organizations and local faith communities.
For more than 15 years, she has explored all aspects of spirituality, broadening her experience of meaningful practice. She enjoys uniting her love of art history and world mythology as she guides people through the creative process of spiritual formation. Through horseback riding and hiking, she nurtures a deeply spiritual relationship with nature, and especially with the unique beauty of the Sonoran Desert.
Stephanie Ludwig, Ph.D., M.A., M.Div.
Spiritual Health Expert
Stephanie earned her doctorate in psychology and a master’s degree in transpersonal studies from Sofia University, Palo Alto, California. She received a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School, Nashville, and a BA in religious studies from the University of San Diego.
Her professional interests include the role of nature as a spiritual teacher and healer, and sacred dream work. Her previous experience includes working as a spiritual director and retreat leader. She was a founder and leader of Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona, a nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident. Stephanie was also Director of Faith Development at the Beacon Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Flagstaff, Arizona, where she planned and developed spiritual programs and camps for children, youth and adults.
At Canyon Ranch, Stephanie especially enjoys helping guests explore and nourish their spiritual lives through the cultivation of transformative spiritual practices, including exercise.
Spirit Lodge Provider
Kevin has been with Canyon Ranch for over 24 years. He received his degree as a Natural Therapeutic Specialist from the New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics in 1987, and is a Licensed Massage Therapist. Kevin began his career with Canyon Ranch as a hiking guide before moving into massage where he is now a senior Hydro-Therapist who opened the hydrotherapy department and co-created rejuvenating waters. Kevin is currently Canyon Ranch’s Spiritual lodge leader.
Kevin specializes in sports medicine, Hydro-therapy, Chinese herbs, and martial arts, and has studied Wing Chunn for 30 years. Kevin enjoys working with other therapists and teaching them about the magic of working with water.
Kevin was raised in a Native family and started going to Pow Wows as a child and started working with medicine men and continues to work with Native teachers. One of Kevin’s life mottos includes “There is no love in hate and no hate in love”. Kevin also suggests that guests at Canyon Ranch get outside and enjoy the nature by hiking, or biking.
