FOOTWEAR
To avoid blisters, break in new hiking and tennis shoes the month before your visit. Footwear you might need:

• Aerobic shoes - for exercise classes, not for vigorous walks over rough terrain.
• Running shoes - ideal for running and morning walks, but will not provide lateral support for aerobics and hiking.
• Tennis and racquetball shoes - no black soles, please, because they mark the courts.
• Hiking boots - ideal for hikes over rocky trails. Athletic shoes do not provide adequate traction or ankle support and are not safe for hiking
• Aqua socks - you will be more comfortable using them for pool classes.
• Winter boots - for snowshoeing and winter hiking.
• Ski boots - for downhill or cross-country skiing.
