Cleveland Clinic and Canyon Ranch Launch Joint Executive Health Program

New program combines cutting-edge clinical expertise with expert advice in preventive wellness

TUCSON, Ariz. (Sept. 18, 2006) – Two leaders in their respective fields have combined resources to offer an unprecedented executive health experience.

As part of their ongoing partnership to provide innovative health options, Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, one of the nation’s leading hospitals, and Canyon Ranch, the life-enhancement company that pioneered the wellness lifestyle concept, announce their collaborative Cleveland Clinic-Canyon Ranch Executive Health Program (EHP), which integrates the best practices of traditional medicine with the latest advancements in preventive wellness.

The joint initiative takes the conventional annual executive physical to a higher level, offering not only the most comprehensive medical information available, but also a prescription for personalized lifestyle changes to achieve optimal health.

The two venues fulfill different needs of the program’s participants. At Cleveland Clinic, busy executives can complete the program during a full one-day experience. Evaluations may require an additional night’s stay. At the Canyon Ranch locations, participants can select a four- or five-day program and combine the medical benefits of the program with the many other opportunities available at the renowned destination resorts.

Both companies drew from a solid foundation of previous successful executive health programs to develop the new co-branded version.

The new Cleveland Clinic-Canyon Ranch Executive Health Program is individually tailored to each patient and includes, among other elements, a nursing assessment, including vision, hearing and spirometry (lung function) testing; a comprehensive history and physical by an EHP physician; full laboratory studies to obtain a complete profile of major organ systems; a stress test; a bone density analysis, an exercise physiology consultation for a personalized exercise prescription; a nutrition consultation and body composition analysis; a lifestyle consultation to learn to manage responses to stress; a follow-up with the EHP physician to review and summarize test results, a comprehensive medical report on health and medical findings; and optional tests and services if needed.
