Canyon Ranch In The Berkshires Chosen Top Destination Spa By Departures, Luxury Lifestyle & Travel Magazine For American Express Platinum Card^® Members

Lenox, Mass. – (April 28, 2004) – Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, the celebrated health resort in Lenox, Massachusetts, has again been recognized for excellence by the readers of Departures, the luxury lifestyle magazine published exclusively for American Express Platinum Card^® and Centurion Card members. Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires was voted Best Destination Spa in U.S. and Canada, as published in the May/June 2004 issue of Departures.

Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires received top honors last year in the magazine’s inaugural Readers’ Favorites Survey in the “luxury resorts” category. This year, “destination spas” were added as a separate category. Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires received the highest score of any hotel or resort listed in the survey – 99.9.

Mel and Enid Zuckerman founded the original Canyon Ranch Health Resort in Tucson, Arizona, in 1979. Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires Health Resort opened in Lenox, Massachusetts, in 1989. The first Canyon Ranch SpaClub opened at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1999. In 2002, Canyon Ranch opened a SpaClub facility at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida. In January 2004, Canyon Ranch debuted its third Canyon Ranch SpaClub onboard Queen Mary 2 luxury ocean liner. Canyon Ranch Living, the company's first healthy living residential community, is scheduled to open in Miami Beach, Florida in 2005.
