Outdoor Pools
The adults-only heated Atlantic Pool located on the rooftop of the Wellness Spa building is suitable for lap swimming and outdoor group classes. Pool classes are listed in This Week at Canyon Ranch and on the Spa Activity Boards. Please note that there is no lifeguard on duty at our pools. Lap swimming is permitted outside of scheduled class times.
Work with an aquatic instructor to start or continue water workouts. Learn exercises to improve your flexibility, cardiovascular endurance and strength. You’ll develop a water workout you can use at home.
Learn to move more efficiently, gracefully and safely. This innovative water exercise program for all fitness levels teaches the six essential qualities of fitness: balance, coordination, flexibility, endurance, speed and strength. No swimming skills are necessary as you use a floatation vest and water barbells. The rehabilitative aspect of the Burdenko method is ideal for those recovering from injuries or surgery; the conditioning and training aspect is perfect for those interested in improving quality of life and sports performance.
Private lessons are valuable for beginner, intermediate or advanced swimmers. Learn basic swimming skills, correct your stroke for improved lap-swimming, learn better breath control and advanced strokes, or set up a training program for competition.
The Atlantic Ocean is our easternmost saltwater pool, and training in this environment is for the adventure-spirited. Train like a pro as your skilled personal coach takes you to the water’s edge and beyond the monotony of swimming laps in a pool. Every swim is different, with changing tides, currents and marine life. Recommended only for intermediate and advanced swimmers.
