Canyon Ranch Institute

Canyon Ranch Institute partners with diverse organizations and individuals to help educate, inspire, and empower every person to prevent disease and embrace a life of wellness. A 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Canyon Ranch Institute (CRI) is led by Richard Carmona, M.D., M.P.H. FACS, President of Canyon Ranch Institute, Vice Chairman of Canyon Ranch, and 17th Surgeon General of the United States (2002-2006).

Many members of the Canyon Ranch family generously contribute time, money and energy to support and advance CRI’s mission and partnerships.

Featured Partnership:

The Head Start Demonstration Project in South Tucson exemplifies the CRI mission. The project is helping mothers be healthy role models for their children. A part of CRI’s partnership with the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health at the University of Arizona, this project is showing that with modest changes in the way America approaches health, people can be healthier and health care costs will be significantly reduced.

Since 1979, thousands of guests have become healthier by choosing the Canyon Ranch lifestyle. The non-profit Canyon Ranch Institute is translating the integrative health and wellness practices that we’ve developed and applied at Canyon Ranch for more than 30 years. With our partners, we’re helping more and more people and families in underserved communities to become active, informed participants in their own pursuit of optimal wellness. It’s a vision whose time has come.
