Battle of the Ranches

If you have more than one child or pet, you know that it is possible to love each one the same, yet celebrate their differences. All are wonderful … in their own way. Just like Canyon Ranch – different locations for different reasons and seasons. But ask a general manager about his particular property and he becomes rabidly passionate and a tad competitive. See if you agree with why each thinks his property is the BEST Canyon Ranch has to offer.

I’m originally from Pennsylvania and I still get tickled when I see guests sitting by the pool or dining al fresco on a clear and balmy January day. When they’re shoveling snow and battling wind chill factors back East, Tucson is still as beautiful in the winter as it is all year. Amazing! Our guests never get tired of experiencing the Sonoran Desert, with its beautiful sunrises and sunsets. They are really delighted to catch a glimpse and a photo of a family of javelina (hav-uh-LEE-na), those pesky peccaries that sometimes roam the property. Next to the Canyon Ranch experience, the exotic beauty of the desert Southwest is our major draw.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. The most recent jewel in the Canyon Ranch crown has something not found at any of the others – a Canyon Ranch Melon Ball and the famous Purple Pillow, signature drinks from our varied and unique cocktail menu of organic wines and spirits.

Oh, and did I mention we have an ocean just outside our property? 750 feet of pristine beach filled with views of the Atlantic, bikinis and, from May to October, sea turtles nesting on our site. If you’re still not convinced Miami Beach has it all, visit nearby Bal Harbour Shops, one of the world’s most famous luxury shopping areas.

Not to brag, but you haven’t really played croquet until you’ve played it with me on the Great Lawn – better sign up early and bring your summer whites. The Berkshires’ unique cultural attributes bring guests to our Canyon Ranch.

Our outdoor activities appeal to many guests who await the change of seasons to bring a breath of fresh air to their fitness program – snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter, kayaking, canoeing and now, our latest offering, paddleboarding in the summer. Tucson and Miami think they have great year-round weather, but it’s always 68 degrees here … unless you choose to go outside the glass!
