Chili-Rubbed Tequila Shrimp

¼ tsp sea salt
¼ tsp chili flakes
½ tsp chili powder
¼ tsp cumin
¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp water
16 peeled and de-veined shrimp
1 tsp canola oil
2 tsp minced garlic
¼ cup tequila
2 Tbsp chopped cilantro
1 Tbsp fresh lime juice

  1. Combine salt, chili flakes, chili powder, cumin, black pepper and water to form a paste. Rub shrimp with paste until well coated.
  2. Heat a large sauté pan to medium-high heat. Add canola oil and sear shrimp for 1 minute per side. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add tequila, cilantro and lime juice and sauté for 1 minute.
